Search Engine Optimization and Wordpress CMS Website Design
We often get asked about how to properly Optimize a Wordpress CMS Website Design. Below we’ll cover some of the keysteps you can easily do yourself in just minutes to achieve Great Search Engine Rankings!
Your Wordpress CMS Website Design will try it’s very best to stay Optimized with any changes you make automatically, but there are a few things you can do to give it a Real Boost!

First, make sure your website is Permalinked, this creates page names with words rather than numbers. Search Engines read Words not numbers! So for example our website has links like:
http://leadwebdesigners.com/website-design
instead of
http://leadwebdesigners.com/php/1234.442r5
Also, notice those page names are Keywords..hint hint
In your Wordpress Dashboard Click Settings>Permalinks
In the Custom Field paste: /%postname%/
Then Save Changes. This will change every page in your website to their Link/topic name! This is one of the Very first things we do when we start installing a client’s new CMS Website Design! **Warning** Test before implementing on a Blog
Second,Every picture on your CMS Website Design needs the Image Title changed. You see this text when you move your mouse over any picture on a website. Wordpress by Default just puts in the picturename.png. This does you no good for the search engines! To fix this:
In your Dashboard> Go to the page with the picture> click the upper left of the picture to “Edit Image”> in the Edit Image Title line backspace out the default Title and type your Keywords describing the picture and page it’s on. Ours for our main page is : Free Website Hosting and Free Search Engine Submission for CMS Website Design Clients
Next line is Edit Image Caption,If you wish you can also add the same Keyword description here but be aware it may change how your site looks. If it looks ok then it’s another excuse to show your Keywords to the Search Engines!
The Next line is Link URL, It’s a good idea to link the picture to a page that had specific Content relating to the picture topic if you can.
Third,We’d suggest downloading a very nice plugin called All In One SEO Pack, it’s a Free Search Engine Optimization plugin that adds Meta Tag Control to EVERY page of your CMS Website Design for Very targeted control!
Once you have installed the All-In-One-SEO-Pack, when you Edit each page you’ll notice some New Boxes at the bottom…Title, Description and Keywords for THAT page!
There is a Pay “Pro” version of this Wordpress Plugin but we’ve found the free version works Just fine!
Like all of our CMS Website Designs, there is no HTML knowledge required!
