CMS Website Design Color Sets
CMS Website Design and more specifically what has been coined as “Web 2.0″ have become popular in recent years. To help you select CMS Website Design colors we’ve collected some color swatch combinations used in current “Web 2.0″ styles along with their combination names. There are almost unlimted combinations but these are the most common.
The first 2 colors in each set are Main colors, the 3rd is an accent color.

The Color Logic Behind Using Specific Colors on your CMS Website
Some colors have more impact on different groups of people and being aware of this little trick can increase Targeted traffic to your cms website. All rules are ment to be broken but in General the colors below work!
- Pastels are generally more attractive to Woman and relaxed personalities.
- Fire Engine Red is generally more attractive to Aggressive personalities.
- Primary colors such as bright blue, yellow and oranges are generally more attractive to the under-teen age group.
- Dark blue, Navy, rich browns and dark reds are School or “professional” colors indicating Trust and Authority.
- Apple Red and Apple Green work for Food sites. Specially Youth targeted.
- Tans with browns and navy with brown give a feeling of “Class” or “expensive.”
- White, shows innocents, virginal and combined with other colors can “open up” a darker themed cms site.
- Black and dark red gives a demonic, aggressive feel.
- Black with Gold gives an “upclass” feeling. Frequently used by Law Firms.
- Deep Purple with Gold can do the same thing but it’s hard to keep it from looking cheap.
Warning here, Never Ever Ever combine red/blue/yellow… we call those “exploding clown” sites. There is almost NO WAY to make a professional cms site with this color combination. Usually clients who want this color combination are really aiming for “patriotic” but it will come out looking cheap. Its OK to use this color combination in just the Header section of your cms site like a Flag, then go with a solid Dark color from there down. This is Often used by Politicians. (obviously)
